This weekend Chrissy and I went to a drive-in movie theater. It was my first time at a drive-in.
It was a long drive to Goochland, but well worth it for the experience. It was $7/person to get in, which allowed us to see two movies – Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Surrogates.
We got a free large popcorn with our admission and there was unlimited refills on coffee. Everything at the snack bar was *cheap*! We ended up pretty much eating dinner there (for $10.)
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs was pretty terrible.
Surrogates had potential as a story, but I think it fell flat. The whole idea behind the movie would have been one of several threads in a good sci-fi book, and the world the story took place in wasn’t very well developed. They didn’t seem to consider at all how other technologies would have advanced in a world with the surrogate technology. They just dropped this idea into a world that was otherwise just like today.
