Injured Bird

Yesterday I hit a bird on the highway. Today I found this guy in the backyard. He can’t fly, so he’s pretty much stuck in the backyard. I let the dogs out and we all saw the bird at the same time. The dogs took off after him, but I was able to call them off just as they were closing in on him. The bird was running away from the dogs but got stuck at the fence. He let me get close enough to take some pictures with my Nexus One. I tried to feed him some sunflower seeds but he wouldn’t eat them.

I’ve gone back to check on him a few times. He’s working his way along the fence line. I shot about 30 seconds of video from my phone, which I’ll try to post later or tomorrow.

Hospital Signs

I guess this is one of those things you’d understand if it applied to you. This was in the stairwell.

They should clean that stuff. There were a bunch of these rooms.

It’s on the back of the door in every room, like the checkout time in a hotel. The only thing missing is the room rates. You do not want to see the room rates. Well, I do not want to see the room rates.

So, can I go in there?

Apple will sue when Steve Jobs sees this.

I guess this guy is so famous they don’t even need to say who it is. I have no idea.

This really confused me until I saw the next one.

Oh!

The cleverly named “Medical Office Building”.

Pretty much the 10 best parking spaces at the hospital. They were mostly unused. Ridiculous.

This must be to make up for all the clergy parking.

What the – ?

I guess this is the morgue.

I’m lazy so today you get more of the ever-popular pictures of flowers. Once the self-proclaimed, “World’s Leading Supplier of Pictures of Our Dogs,” brianlinzy.com is now the leading supplier of pictures of flowers from our front yard. Somewhere along the way my life took a terribly wrong turn.

These are all very low res for quick uploading to the web. There are higher quality images on my Picasa page.

Funny how things work

I started making regular contributions to this blog last October 10th, and I set a goal of making an entry every weekday. I haven’t missed a day yet. On some days I put a lot of research in to my posts. I try to make interesting posts, and I hope that at least every few days I say something that makes someone stop and think.

But despite the effort, when I look through the logs it’s always pictures of flowers that are most popular.

Saturday US Grappling‘s 3rd Dominion Grappling Championships was held in Ashland, VA. Results have been posted and we’re working on the complete brackets now.

Strange woodland creatures

I went in the woods today looking to take some pictures of anything that looked interesting. I was hoping for some kind of creatures. That didn’t work out, so I had to get some of my own.
