Not the Flu. I finally went to a doc-in-a-box last night. I was poked and prodded and jabbed with needles. They took blood, snot, saliva, and pee. They ran it all through a bunch of tests and came back with nothing. They said I have “viral symptoms” but they have no idea what virus, or even if it really is a virus. They found some blood in my pee, but they apparently weren’t concerned about that. I was (and still am) dehydrated, so they tried to put me on a saline drip. After a couple jabs in each arm they gave up on that. I “have funny veins.” They gave me a big dose of Tylenol and a shot of Toradol, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug which at least according to one website should not be used on dehydrated patients.  That made my headache disappear almost instantly.  At 3 o’clock this morning I woke up shaking violently.  It lasted for maybe the longest minute of my life.

I have an appointment with an actual doctor today.
